President Lee Jae Myung chaired a film and video roundtable at the Maeght Foundation in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, France, on September 7 local time. He said local identity can become global strength. The meeting brought Korean and overseas industry figures into one room.

Lee sets out a local-to-global message
At the Maeght Foundation in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, President Lee Jae Myung chaired a film and video roundtable and said that the most local originality can become the strongest global competitiveness. He also proposed practical and strategic ways to discuss cooperation between local creativity and the global film and video industry.
Lee also pointed to the international resonance already built by Korean films and dramas. His remarks placed Korean storytelling in a wider industrial frame centered on shared growth.

Wide attendance from industry and institutions
The roundtable brought together leaders from CJ Group, Naver, CJ ENM, TVING, Nexon Korea, the Korea Creative Content Agency, the Korean Film Council, and the Busan International Film Festival. Overseas attendees included Netflix, the Motion Picture Association, and Mediawan.
The lineup combined content companies, a platform, a game company, public agencies, a film festival, and global industry partners. That mix showed the meeting was designed as a working discussion across creation, business, and distribution.
Support for wider cooperation
The government said it would provide policy and institutional support to help global co-production, investment, and distribution become more active in film and video. The roundtable did not announce a specific agreement or project, but it did place Korean content in the center of a broader cooperation agenda.
The clear insight from the meeting is that Korean content is now being discussed as a network of partners, markets, and creative capacity, not only as an export line.
