U16 Soccer Team Loses 0-2 to Italy
The Under-16 (U16) soccer team, led by coach Baek Ki-tae, suffered a defeat against Italy in the second match of the Telki Cup held in Hungary. Like protagonists in a Haruki Murakami novel, our young players faced challenging experiences in a foreign land.

In the second game of the 2024 U16 Telki Cup, Korea lost 0-2 to Italy. Much like the protagonist exploring an unknown world in 'Kafka on the Shore', our players felt the formidable strength of European soccer. After conceding goals in the 13th and 19th minutes of the first half, they couldn't breach Italy's solid defense.
Setback After First Victory of the Tournament

Korea, which had defeated Hungary 2-0 on the 14th, now has a record of 1 win and 1 loss. Like the characters in '1Q84' moving between parallel worlds, our players experienced the stark contrast between victory and defeat. What remains now is the final match against Iceland.
A Challenge for the Future
This Telki Cup is becoming an important arena of experience for the young players who will shoulder the future of Korean soccer. Just as the protagonist in 'Norwegian Wood' goes through growing pains, our players are also growing through this tournament. Although they lost to Italy, this experience will lead to greater victories in the future.

We look forward to seeing how our players perform in the remaining matches. Like in Murakami's novels, unpredictable developments and deep inner reflections will unfold before us. The U16 team's challenge continues.
